A one day detox is the perfect solution for you, especially when you’re feeling a bit under the weather, because you’re body seems to be weighing you down. You’re in no mood for anything, you’d just like to sleep or simply do nothing. Instead of falling into a sleepy routine, you could just as well jumpstart your body, to feel energetic once more. This is where a one day detox works wonders. Some detox for many days in a row, some fast with just water and some detox every once in a while. Don’t be too drastic with your detox, as your body will not appreciate it.
How to Do a One Day Detox
There are two main ways of doing a one day detox : drinking juices or drinking teas. I for one, recommend a mix of the two. ( Keep in mind that I am not a physician, I am just speaking from my personal experience.)
What juices work best on a one day detox?
Citrus juices. Lemon, limes, grapefruits, oranges. A great way of letting your body know you’re doing a one day detox is to drink a glass of warm water with either lemon or lime in it, right after you woke up. It jumpstarts your digestive system! After which drink a glass of grapefruit juice, freshly squeezed. It’s important to squeeze the juice just before drinking it. Throughout the day, drink a few more glasses of fresh juice. Combine the fruit whichever way you like it. I for one, love grapefruit with orange and a bit of lime.
What teas work best on a one day detox?
It goes without saying that green tea is one of the to-go teas, as it is packed with antioxidants. Besides green tea, you can enjoy white tea- which has more of a mellow taste, licorice tea, rosehip tea, orange tea ( boil water, add orange peel and let it infuse for a few minutes. Then, add a bit of cinnamon and a dash of cayenne pepper). Ginger tea is amazing for a one day detox, as it works wonders for the digestive systems. It has a powerful taste, yet once you get used to it you’ll drink it with pleasure. Also, dandelion tea is recommended for a detox, as well as nettle tea and peppermint tea.
For your one day detox, it’s a matter of taste and selection. Choose whichever juices and tea you like best. Also, it’s better to do a one day detox on a working day, as in weekend days you’re prone to fall off the detox wagon, as you spend more time at home.
