DIY hair masks are a great, natural alternative to all those overpriced masks off the shelves, which are full of harmful ingredients. Unlike in those products, you know for sure what’s in your DIY hair masks, and you’re certain of the effect they will have on your hair. All you have to do is establish which ingredients are better suited for your hair and for the results you’re seeking.
Natural ingredients care for your hair without harming it in any way. With store bought masks, even though the hair looks nice, the side effects on the long run will be more visible than the improvements.
Below you’ll find a few easy DIY hair masks!
1.For All Hair Types – Avocado and Honey
Avocado is rich in vitamins and nutrients – including vitamin E, which is essential for healthy hair, while the honey has a powerful antibacterial agent.
Ingredients needed:
- Ripe Avocado ( depending on your hair length, you may need to use an entire one)
- a tablespoon of honey.
Mix them together, apply on wet hair, leave for 20 minutes, then wash off!
2.For Dry Hair – Olive Oil and Egg
Olive oil is great for hydrating dry locks, while the proteins found in the egg help healthy hair growth.
Ingredients needed:
- 2 Egg Yolks
- 3 tablespoons of olive oil
Combine the two ingredients, apply on wet hair, leave for 20 minutes or more, rinse off!
3.For Oily Hair – Apple Vinegar and Lemon
The vinegar will remove any build up from styling products, kill bacteria, strengthen the hair, and cure you of dandruff. The lemon helps clean the excess oil from your scalp!
Ingredients needed:
- ¼ cup of apple vinegar
- Juice from half a lemon
Mix the ingredients, apply them on dry hair, leave for 15 minutes then rinse off properly.
4.For Frizzy Hair – Banana Mask
Banana is a great ingredient for DIY hair masks because it hydrates deeply and leaves the hair smooth and shiny!
Ingredients needed:
- Very ripe banana
- A tablespoon of honey
- Olive oil
Blend the banana very well, otherwise you might end up with chunks in your hair and they’re not easy to remove! Add the honey and olive oil, apply on dry hair and leave on for at least 20 minutes. Rinse off carefully!
